Turning South Africa’s G20 Presidency into a Living Legacy
A permanent, Africa-led knowledge and continuity system that carries the work of the G20 South Africa beyond 2025
The G20 Legacy Knowledge Initiative is South Africa’s national platform to preserve, organise, and activate the knowledge, commitments, and networks generated during its G20 Presidency.
Instead of letting communiqués, policy papers, and partnerships fade into archives, this initiative turns them into accessible tools, learning programmes, and public resources that will serve the country, the continent, and the world for years to come.

The G20 Legacy Knowledge Initiative is anchored by a core group of South African institutions who are co-designing and stewarding this legacy from presidency to permanence. Together, they provide political leadership, academic depth, and national reach.
AN OPEN ECOSYSTEM FOR NEW PARTNERS

To realise its full potential, we are actively expanding a partnership ecosystem that includes provincial governments, multilaterals, development finance institutions (DFIs), and SETAs, alongside civil society, business, and philanthropy.
